20-year-olds fall through ice [UPDATED]Published 10:16am Monday, December 10, 2012 Updated 12:23pm Monday, December 10, 2012
Two 20-year-old Fargo men were cold but otherwise uninjured when they fell through the ice on Grove Lake in northwestern Otter Tail County Friday evening.
Colton Kellen and Jacob Stevens fell in at about 8:45 p.m., and were able to get out and make it to shore, but did not know where they were at when they called 9-1-1, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department.
The victims were checked by Pelican Ambulance, but denied any further medical treatment. They said there was 4 to 5 inches of ice where they were fishing, but became disoriented when leaving the ice, and headed in the opposite direction of their vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
