Jail shouldn’t be so cold for inmates [UPDATED]
Published 10:03am Monday, December 10, 2012 Updated 12:11pm Monday, December 10, 2012I am writing in regards to the extream cold temperatures we are forced to bear while incarcerated at the Otter Tail County Jail.
The temperature is kept so low we are forced to wrap our feet in newspaper, we are issued two very thin blankets only, one pair of mostly worn-out socks, two worn out T-shirts, one sweatshirt, light weight pants, a short sleeved top shirt and sandals.
Jails are required to maintain a temperature that is liable, however we have no way of finding out.
It’s still to cold to bear after wearing all the cloths issued.
It’s against policy to wrap up in a blanket in the day area.
