MINNETONKA — The No. 2 (Class AA) Pelican Rapids Vikings rallied back from 12 points down to take home a 59-55 win over No. 6 St. Peter Saints Saturday at the Breakdown Tip-Off Classic.

Pelican Rapids started out slow as they could not solve the enigma that was the 6’8 Peter Kruize of St. Peter.

Kruize entered the break with 19 tallies, but a key defensive change shutdown the big man in the second half as he finished the evening with 21 points.

Ryan Bruggeman led the Vikings with 24 points, while teammate Tucker Forsgren finished with 15 in the win.

The Vikings will be back in action Friday as they host Heart O’Lakes Conference rival Perham at 7:30 p.m.
