A dozen reasons to celebrate [UPDATED]
Published 11:08am Wednesday, December 12, 2012 Updated 11:08am Wednesday, December 12, 2012Every 11-year-old girl looks forward to her 12th birthday, but Dec. 12, 2012, or 12/12/12 marks an extra special day for one Fergus Falls girl.
Heather Hutchins is celebrating her 12th birthday today on 12/12/12.
Heather’s mother Amy said she realized this day would eventually come shortly after Heather was born but didn’t think much of it until the date drew nearer.
Heather said she wants an iPad and a new phone for her birthday, but her mother jokingly said all she is going to get is a twelve pack of soda, a dozen eggs and various other things that come in 12s.
Heather is bringing cupcakes packaged by the dozen to share with her classmates today, and on Dec. 21 Amy is throwing Heather a mystery birthday party.
At noon and midnight, the time will even be “12,” and Heather said one of her friends was going to give her a call at midnight.
Birthdays like this are rare, and Heather said she is excited to celebrate her special day of 12s with family and friends.
