EL seeing garbage can system abuse

Published 10:57am Friday, December 14, 2012

The Elbow Lake City Council discussed the increase in garbage collections in their last meeting.

Council member Stuart Anderson commented that when he drives around town he sees people abusing the system, with people packing garbage over the top.

Council member Roger Toso said he felt that too many people got the smallest, cheapest container at first, but are now finding that they need a bigger one.

City clerk Jeff Holsen will contact West Central Sanitation for suggestions, to see if a notice should be sent out to people who are overfilling containers.
