FF swimmers win pool duel with CLC foe Rocori

The Fergus Falls Otter boys were able to claim a 94-88 Central Lakes Conference victory over the visiting Rocori Spartans Thursday at the Kennedy Secondary School Pool.

The Otters were impressive in the pool as they claimed six wins, six runner-ups and six third place finishes at the meet.

Joe Kitzman was a dual winner as he won both the 100 backstroke ( and the 100 butterfly (55.41), while teammate Cal Mouritsen notched two wins in the 100 freestyle (51.67) and the 200 IM (2:15.26).

Clay Danielson claimed two second place finishes in the 200 freestyle (2:02.66) and 100 butterfly (1:02.09), while teammate Connor Hatfield took second in the 500 freestyle (6:00.38) and third in the 200 freestyle (2:10.62).

Daniel Kowalski also claimed a second place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.45.

Third place finishers for the Otters included Austen Tabbut 100 backstroke (1:11.64), Dalton Mouritsen 200 IM (2:33.35), Tyler Pyle 100 breaststroke (1:20.72), and Luke Raitz in the 50 freestyle (25.87).

Fergus claimed two firsts in relay events as the team of Hatfield, Pyle, Raitz and Mike Mortenson won the 200 medley relay (1:57.44) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Kitzman, Danielson, Raitz and Mouritsen took the top spot with a time of 3:41.23.

The Otters also took a second place relay finish as the 200 freestyle team of Kowalski, Mortenson, Hatfield and Jesse Ugstad.

In diving, the Otters claimed the top three podium spots as Michael Aasness(259.30), Reid Magnuson (215.80) and Mikey Pistulka (201.70) went one, two and three.

The Fergus boys will be back in the pool Tuesday at Sartell at 6 p.m.
