Say farewell to Miss Liberty [UPDATED]

Her leaving should not be at all unexpected, for years now she’s been respectably rejected.
All she wanted was for us to be happy and she is really tried. But we were selfish and were never satisfied.
Morel always morel we boldly demanded. And it has to be free we also brazenly commanded.
She gave us her all and gave it abundantly. But it was never enough to fill our gluttony.
Slowly but surely we’ve tried bill the Golden Goose. By tightening around her lovely neck the brutal noose.
Until she realized against her will and prayer. That we didn’t want her, that we just didn’t care.
And so she’s leaving us and what will be our fate? We will be wondering when it’s far, far too late.
Why she left us to wallow in our sad misery, and all we’ll be able to say, is Goodbye Miss Liberty.
