MORRIS — The Fergus Falls Otter gymnastics team picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Morris Area 117.25-107.1.

The Otters had their best meet of the season as Chandler Frigaard, Camryn Appert and Laura Enderson took the top three spots in all-around events.

Frigaard had an especially great night as she placed first in floor (8.0) and beam (8.3) and third in both vault and bars.

Appert took runner-up honors in both the vault and the beam, while placing third in floor and fourth on the bars.

McKenna Hatlewick saw a season best on bars as she placed second with a score of 7.3.

“The girls are doing a great job staying consistent,” Otter coach Erin Larson said. “Now we hope to start seeing their scores improve a little each meet as they get stronger and become more confident with their routines.”

In JV action, Kim Conrad took first in floor and tied for runner-up honors with teammate Brooke Grewe on vault with a score of 7.4. Morgan Jarandson took second place on bars.

“We don’t have enough gymnasts to get a full JV score, but these girls are working hard and it is showing. They have improved over seven points from their last meet,” added Larson.

The Otters will now travel to Sauk Rapids-Rice Friday for a 6 p.m. Central Lakes Conference match up.
