A Center for the Arts knows there is a lot of talent in our area, so it is hosting a juried community talent show with two $100 prizes.     Auditions will be on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 11 and 12 at A Center for the Arts in downtown Fergus Falls.
You must sign up for your time slot in advance. Three local judges will select the acts that will go on to perform in public talent show on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Audition times on Friday, Jan. 11 are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 auditions are at 10 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 5 p.m. Sign up for one of two age categories: ages 5 to 16 and 16 to adult (16-year-olds decide which category to try out in).
The final event is on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. when the public will see its peers, family, friends, and neighbors perform a variety of talents at AC4TA’s “Fergus Falls Has Talent” show. Tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children/students and are on sale now.
It doesn’t matter where you live or if you try out as a group or as an individual. Whether you sing, dance, play an instrument, juggle, read poetry, tell jokes, ride unicycles, or more any and all talents are welcome.             Three individuals will judge the final talent show and chose a winner in each of the two age categories. Each winning individual/group will receive a cash prize of $100.
One of the judges for the final show is Robbyn Navatto, who has been a talent agent for more than 20 years in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and New York. She currently runs her own management company and places talent with agencies in New York or Los Angeles for commercials, print work, film acting, and Broadway. She has worked with more than 20 record labels and music professionals on both coasts.
As a manager, she is able to submit talent for private audition opportunities for shows as “America’s Got Talent” and “The Voice.”
A Center for the Arts is located in downtown Fergus Falls in the Fergus Theatre at 124 W. Lincoln Ave. For more information, call AC4TA at 218-998-ARTS (2787) or visit www.FergusArts.org.
