PioneerCare, M State offer CNA training

Published 11:59am Thursday, December 20, 2012

PioneerCare and MState Customized Training are partnering to provide Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training for people interested in a caregiving career.
PioneerCare uses a blended-worker concept that is more responsive to its residents and at the same time enhances the employees’ work experience. CNAs work directly with patients in a variety of medical settings, including nursing homes, doctors’ offices and hospitals.
They are an important part of any medical team, working closely under RNs, physicians, or LPNs. CNAs are trained in all the basics of healthcare, and they often can be found checking vital signs, administering medication, and caring for patients.
“In today’s job market, the healthcare field is one of the few career fields that provide stability and growth,” says Nathan Johnson, Administrator at PioneerCare.
Nationally, the outlook is extremely bright for caregiving as it is expected to grow much more quickly than other careers. Locally, the demand for trained and certified caregivers is strong now. Current economic conditions have had little effect on careers in caregiving.
People ages 18 and older interested in test-driving a career in caregiving can do so at PioneerCare. In addition to the age requirement, potential candidates must pass a background check and complete the NCRC certificate assessment. Those interested in participating should contact Pioneer at 218-998-1500 as soon as possible to schedule a shadowing session.
CNA training begins at PioneerCare on Friday, January 25, with classes and labs scheduled during evening and weekend hours. Clinicals are scheduled from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 24. Students who complete the program will be prepared to complete CNA testing at the end of February, allowing placement in a new career within just a few weeks. All training expenses are paid for those who successfully complete the program and become a CNA-certified caregiver at PioneerCare. Students will be responsible for the cost of the certification exam.
Details are available online at www.pioneercare.org or by calling PioneerCare at 218-998-1500
