PELICAN RAPIDS — A different player, same outcome. Ryan Bruggeman nailed 33 points as the Pelican Rapids boys were able to pick up a 73-53 win over Crookston Thursday evening.

“The Frazee game gave us an opportunity to address some weaknesses we noticed in our defensive.” Vikings’ coach Doug Bruggeman said. “The coaching staff was really pleased with the carry-over we saw from Wednesday’s practice to tonight’s game.”

Bruggeman finished the evening going 12 for 19, including a 5 for 7 effort from beyond the arc. Teammate Tucker Forsgren finished the evening with 10 points and nine rebounds.

“We have been playing a lot of players to start the year. Our hope is that by the end of the year we have 8 to 10 players we feel are ready to step in and be solid contributors on this team,” Bruggeman added.

The Vikings will have no rest as they welcome in rival Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Friday at 7:30 p.m.
