Knights D stymies Royalton 66-38

ROYALTON — The West Central Area boys were able to force 18 turnovers and hold the hosting Royals to 32 percent shooting as they took home a 66-38 Prairie Conference victory.

The Knights defense shutdown the Royals top scorers in Luke Wentland and Matt Silbernick in the first half as they jumped out to 30-13 lead.

West Central continued to apply pressure as they picked up a W.

“The kids followed the defensive game plan well,” Knights’ coach Kraig Hunter said. “We held down their top players and we got them mentally fatigued with our full court press.”

Dakotah Kashmark picked up a double-double for the Knights as he dropped in 18 points and ripped down 11 rebounds. Teammate Drew Peterson chipped in 15 points of his own in the win.

The Knights we be off till Dec. 28 as they travel to take on the Hancock Owls in a 8 p.m. tilt.
