For the third consecutive year, local disc jockey Mike Erwin (DJ Wild Mikey) put on a December fundraiser to raise money for area food shelves, and once again, the event saw an outstanding show of support.

Erwin’s goal was to top last year’s total of $4,447. Bringing in $6,203 along with more than 1,000 pounds of canned foods, he hit his mark and then some.

This year, he split up the fundraiser over four events, two at the American Legion Post 489 in Underwood and two at Marie’s Tavern. Erwin already has plans to bring the event back next year.
