Otter boys white out Monticello 5-0
Published 10:52am Friday, December 28, 2012The Fergus Falls boys continued their hot play on the ice Thursday night defeating Monticello/Annadale/Moose Lake 5-0 at the Otters’ own holiday tournament.
The game started off slow, until Sam Rausch was able to get the Fergus skaters on the board midway through the first period with an unassisted goal.
With a one goal lead entering the second period, Casey Ward was able to flip in a Taylor Lemke pass short-handed to give the Otters a 2-0 lead.

Austin Hanson would add the fourth Otter goal at the 10:41 mark off assists by Kyler Peterson and Adam Evenson and less than two minutes later Rausch would bury his second goal of the game in the back of the Monticello net to ice the game at five goals to nil.
Fergus put 29 shots on goal in the game, while Otter netminder Ian Bjorngum turned away 23 shots to record his first shutout of the season.
The Otters will continue their holiday tournament as they take on Park Rapids Area at 7 p.m. Friday.
