Evansville man dies in work accident [UPDATED]

An Evansville man died Thursday in a work related accident at Pope Douglas Solid Waste.

The Alexandria Police Department received a report of a medical emergency at Pope Douglas Solid Waste at about 9 p.m. Initial reports were that the Tim Anderson, 50, had fallen off of a ladder, but upon arrival, police found him unconscious, caught in a piece of machinery.

Despite the first aid efforts of Alexandria police officers and North Memorial Ambulance paramedics, Anderson died at the scene.

The death is still under investigation.
