The former Otters was quoted in the article ‘Big Time, Little Town’, in response to small community hockey programs producing big time talent.

Magnusson was quoted in saying “In a small town, you can just be yourself and know that your entire community is behind you. Especially in a smaller community, you really make a lot of good friends and meet a lot of great families. I have been very fortunate to have the coaches and friends I have had along the way.”
