Say farewell to Miss Liberty

Published 9:41am Monday, December 17, 2012 Updated 11:43am Monday, December 17, 2012

She is leaving us and I do not want her to go. She I leaving us as surly as summer sun and winter snow.

Her leaving should not be at all unexpected, for years now she’s been respectably rejected.

All she wanted was for us to be happy and she is really tried. But we were selfish and were never satisfied.

Morel always morel we boldly demanded. And it has to be free we also brazenly commanded.

She gave us her all and gave it abundantly. But it was never enough to fill our gluttony.

Slowly but surely we’ve tried bill the Golden Goose. By tightening around her lovely neck the brutal noose.

Until she realized against her will and prayer. That we didn’t want her, that we just didn’t care.

And so she’s leaving us and what will be our fate? We will be wondering when it’s far, far too late.

Why she left us to wallow in our sad misery, and all we’ll be able to say, is Goodbye Miss Liberty.

Speaking of political parties Tubal Cain’s father wrote. “It serves to distract the Public Councils, and enfeeble the Public Administration….agitates the Community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; kindles the animosity of one….against another….it opens the door to foreign influence and corruption…thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.”
