Bemidji State University seeks Education Hall of Fame nominations [UPDATED]

Bemidji State University’s Department of Professional Education seeks nominations for its Professional Education Hall of Fame.

The bi-annual induction honors Bemidji State alumni who demonstrate excellence in teaching students or managing schools.

This award is open to teachers or administrators who graduated from Bemidji State and meet the following criteria:

• Hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in teacher education from Bemidji State University;

• Have been previously awarded or recognized by a reputable group for accomplishments in the field of education; and

• Is nominated by a fellow Bemidji State University alum, colleague, instructor or administrator.

Self-nominations are not allowed.

Nominated candidates also must submit two letters of support, one from a teacher and one from an administrator, evidence of a previous education award such as a copy of a news release, and a current resume or a brief biography citing professional and/or volunteer experience.

All nominations must be post-marked by Friday, Jan. 11.

The 2013 Hall of Fame inductees will be honored during an April 19, dinner at Bemidji State.

In addition, their pictures will be displayed on the Department of Professional Education’s Hall of Fame wall.
