Battler boys surge past WCA 60-38

BATTLE LAKE — The Battler boys were able to use a 22-7 run in the second half to defeat visiting West Central 60-38 Saturday.

The game was tight as the two teams traded buckets in the first half. Battle Lake was able to go into the break up 23-21.

The second half opened with a field goal by the Knights, but it turned into the home team’s game as they outscored West Central 37-17 in the win.

Petric Van Erp led the Battlers with 25 points, while teammate Nick Trosdahl chipped in 10 tallies in the win.

West Central was led by Dakotah Kashmark with 15 marks and Jay Zimmerman pulled down 11 boards in the game.

Battle Lake will hit the road Thursday to take on Little Eight Conference foe Parkers Prairie at 7:30 p.m., while the Knights will be back at home against Brandon-Evansville Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
