John Enrique Ramirez, 24 of Fergus Falls

John Ramirez, formerly of Alexandria, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls.

He was born Aug. 8, 1988, at St. Cloud the son of Louis and Julene Joy (Drechsel) Ramirez. Baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Fergus Falls, he was confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria. John graduated from the Osakis Charter School in 2008.

He earned a CNA degree from the Minnesota Community and Technical College.

Recently he was employed at Midwest Home Health, where the workers liked to call him “John Boy.” He will be remembered as a dedicated worker who enjoyed the resident cat who he named Minzy.

He previously worked at The Dollar Tree.

John was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Fergus Falls.

Our Johnie was a kind and gentle young man with a little boy’s heart, full of love and a good sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, flower gardening, and a love of music and animals, especially cats.

He loved being with family and friends which included eating grandma’s waffles.

Preceding him in death were his father, Louis in 2008; his grandfather, James Drechsel in 2009; grandmother, Angelite Ramirez and grandfather, Luis Ramirez.

Survivors include his mother, Julene (stepfather Don) Ruby of Fergus Falls; a brother Louie of Pampa, Texas; his grandmother, Gerry Drechsel of Fergus Falls; his aunt and uncles, Diane and Dave Johnson of rural Pelican Rapids, Ronald (Janice) Drechsel of Dilworth and children, Tyler (Jamie) and Stacie (Troy) Kuehl, Sonny and Vangie Bielke of Texas; a stepbrother, Kevin Ruby of Florida; cousins, Johel (Lisa) Bielke and children, Garret and Kayla and Kelly Bielke; and coworkers, friends and family who loved him dearly.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Fergus Falls

Clergy: Rev. Noel Herr

Burial: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery
