Otter girls rally, tie 2-2 with Bemidji

A late rally by the Fergus Falls Otters girls hockey team turned a loss into an acceptable 2-2 tie as they host the Bemidji Lumberjills Saturday.

Bemidji got on the board first midway through the opening period as Karleigh Wolkerstorfer slipped in a goal off a Kelsey Isaacson assist.

The Lumberjills looked to pick up the win as Allie Heifort scored at 10:54 to give them a two goal lead in the second period, but Fergus was able to find the scoring bug as Megan Niblock ended the shutout off a Sydney Kuehl assist at the 13:47 mark.

Hannah Baker would knot the game up for the Otters in the third period with an unassisted goal five minutes into the third period.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the remainder of the game as they skated to a tie.

Jordie Salwei posted 36 saves in net for Fergus, while the Otters tallied 20 shots on the Bemidji goal.

The Otters will hit the road Thursday as they take on the St. Cloud Ice Breakers at 7:15 p.m.
