Erhard man hurt in trailer accident [UPDATED]

An Erhard man suffered injuries after crashing his pickup and livestock trailer on 170th Avenue near the ethanol plant northwest of Fergus Falls.Theresa

Christopher Bilden, 25, was towing a 32-foot livestock trailer north on 170th Avenue when he lost control on a down hill curve. The vehicle slid on the snow-packed roadway and jack-knifed as it crossed a railroad track. The 2002 Chevy, Silverado rolled onto its side and tore away from the trailer.

Bilden, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Lake Region Healthcare by family members. Portions of the railroad property was damaged and the vehicle and trailer were damaged extensively.

According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, alcohol was suspected to have been a factor in the crash, and charges are likely to follow.
