Knights unplug Chargers

BARRETT — The West Central Area boys were able to hold off a late spark from the Brandon-Evansville Chargers Tuesday to win a 65-53 non-conference game.

The Knights gained control of the game early, but saw the Chargers surge late to go into the break down 32-30.

West Central came out of the locker room looking to reestablish their court presence and were able to build a 17 point lead.

Brandon-Evansville would not backdown as they fought back into the game, but the the run was too late as the home team took the victory.

Dakotah Kashmark led the West Central shooters with 26 points and 11 rebounds, while teammate Drew Peterson chipped in 22 tallies of his own.

The Chargers’ John Haseman threwdown 26 points and 14 boards for a double-double. Patrick Schafer also dropped in 10 for B-E in the game.

The Knights will get a test Friday as they host No. 6 (Class A) Upsala Friday at 7:30 p.m., while the Chargers will be back to their home confines as they take on Ortonville Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
