Auditions are planned this weekend [UPDATED]

I resolved to be more organized. The first thing I did was to try clean my house, but decided that’s a task for warmer weather. For now, I’ll just live in a chaotic mess — does anyone know where I can get that yellow tape they put around hazardous waste sites?
At work I’m trying to be more organized too, although it may not seem like it if you look at my desk. So much for New Year’s resolutions.
This weekend at A Center for the Arts we have three days of auditions.
Friday evening and all day Saturday there are auditions for “Fergus Falls Has Talent.” Any and all types of talent are welcome. Auditions will be before a panel of judges, who will select which acts move on to the final ticketed event on Saturday, Jan. 26.
If you have a talent (singing, dancing, playing music, acting, juggling, stand-up comedy, whatever), and you aren’t signed up to audition yet, call us on Friday, Jan. 11 at 218-998-ARTS (2787) to reserve your audition slot. Not only is it free to audition, but two acts in the final show will receive grand prizes of $100 each.
On Sunday, we have auditions for Razzle Dazzle Revue 2013 “Random Acts of Music.” Everyone must be here at 3 p.m. to fill out forms and attend a brief information meeting. Those who have been in Razzle Dazzle Revue before can leave after the meeting. The rest will stay for auditions.
On Saturday, Jan. 21, Mixed Blood Theatre will be bringing two 1-act plays to the Center: “Daughters of Africa” and “Dr. King’s Dream.” These two plays are heartwarming, funny, dramatic and informative, all at once. Mixed Blood Theatre is an award winning professional company out of the Twin Cities. This is a great opportunity for the people of the Fergus Area to see professional theater at its best.
The show I am really excited about is David (Stoddard) & Anthony (Miltich) in concert on Friday, Feb. 1. These are two of my favorite local musicians. Not only are they great musicians, they each have phenomenal senses of humor: dry, witty, obscure, and sometimes border-line juvenile — all at once. I love their shows, and hope to see everyone there.
There are more auditions the first part of February on Saturday, Feb. 2 and Monday, Jan. 4 for the play “Out of Our Father’s House,” which is about six influential women in history who had the audacity to want both a family and a career. It’s the perfect play for Women’s History Month in March.
