ROTHSAY — The Ashby Arrow boys were able to get back on track Thursday as they defeated Little Eight Conference foe Rothsay 67-47.

The Tigers struggled to keep pace in the first half as the visiting Arrows were able to take a 40-28 lead into half-time.

Ashby’s defense continued to play at a high level as the visitor was able to lean on Rothsay until the last second ticked off the clock.

“After a slow start we picked up the intensity and started to play good basketball,” Ashby coach Jeremy Knick said. “I thought overall we played a much better balanced game. We were less selfish with the ball on offense most of the night and found a good rhythm by moving the ball well.”

Morgan Wing led the Ashby shooters with 15 points coming off the bench, while Tanner Langlie and J.P. Moe each chipped in 14 tallies in the win.

Casey Backstrom led the Tigers with 14 points, while teammate Dexter Aaberg added 11 points.

The Arrows will now travel to take on Battle Lake Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in a battle for the top of the LEC, while the Tigers will look to right the ship Saturday as they travel to take on Lake Park-Audubon at 4 p.m.
