The Fergus Falls boys swim team continued their success at home Thursday night, topping Willmar High School 97-89 at the Kennedy Secondary School pool.
Senior Michael Aasness had another leading night diving for the Otters, taking first place with a score of 247.05. Fergus was able to sweep the the top three spots with Reid Magnuson taking second and Mike Pistulka following up with third.
Two Otter swimmers were double winners on the night. Cal Mouritsen won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.46) and the 100 freestyle (50.12). Joe Kitzman took home first in the 100 butterfly (54.98) and the100 backstroke (57.59).
Clay Danielson just missed joining Mouritsen and Kitzman with double wins, taking first in the 500 freestyle (5:29.34) and second in the 200 freestyle.
Other top Otter finishers were Daniel Kowalski, who took second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 backstroke, Mike Mortenson, runner up in the 200 IM, and Dalton Mouritsen, who had a pair of third place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.
Connor Hatfield contributed a third place finish in the 500 freestyle, while Luke Raitz followed up with a third place finish in the 100 freestyle.
The Otter swimmers were also successful with their relay teams. Kitzman, Kowalski, Danielson, and Cal Mouritsen captured first in the 200 freestyle (1:35.18). They added a close second in the 200 medley relay, with the team of Dalton Mouritsen, Tyler Pyle, Mortenson and Raitz taking third.
The Otters will swim at home again next Tuesday night, when they host Perham/New York Mills at 6 p.m.
