It has not been home sweet home for the Fergus Falls wrestling team in the past two meets and the visiting Alexandria Cardinals made themselves right at home Thursday as they defeated the Otters 47-22 in Central Lakes Conference action.

The Cardinals dominated the meet in the early going and finished the evening with eight wins, including three by pin and two by major decision.

“Alexandria showed up and wrestled well,” Otter coach Adam Schlepp said.

Fergus saw six wrestlers score victories at the meet. Stalwarts Abbot Aho and Tyler Giza each recorded decisions in their respected weight classes, while teammates Walker Heinen (160 lb.), Gus Makovsky (182 lb.), Abram Aho (195 lb.) and Dan Oberg (HW) each won their individual matches.

The Otters will hit the road Friday for a dual tournament at Becker beginning at 4 p.m.
