Knights fall in heartbreaker 52-50

UPSALA — The West Central Area girls fell in a tough battle to the hosting Cardinals 52-50.

It was a back and forth battle in the first half as the Knights held a slim lead 21-20 at the break.

Upsala was able to gain the advantage in the second half, but saw the West Central girls rally to tie the game with 40 seconds to play.

The Cardinals would hit a two point shot as the Knights could not get off a last second shot.

Holly Van Kempen led the Knights with 22 points and Kylee Fernholz added 15 in the game.

The Knights will be back at home Saturday as they welcome in Wheaton/Herman-Norcross for a 3:30 p.m. game.
