PELICAN RAPIDS – The Viking girls could not hold on to a half-time lead as the visiting Detroit Lakes Lakers edged the home team 42-41 Saturday.

Pelican Rapids held a 24-18 lead over the Lakers, but saw the lead dwindle and the W turn to an L.

Mackenzie Korf scored a team high 17 points, while teammate Alyssa Huseby pulled down six rebounds in the game.

The loss snapped a seven game win streak for the Vikings and gave them only their second loss of the season.

The Vikings will look to get back to their winning ways Tuesday as they host the Hawley Nuggets in a 7:30 p.m. Heart O’Lakes Conference battle.
