A Fergus Falls business owner has asked the city to rezone his property to create a vehicle maintenance and repair business.

The Planning Commission on Monday approved a Jan. 28 hearing for Matt Skjeret for two rezoning requests. The first request asks the city to rezone a parcel at 2521 Pebble Lake Road from residential (R-A) to commercial (B-2). The second request would allow Skjeret to operate the vehicle maintenance and repair business on the land.

The commission also will consider rezoning an adjacent parcel owned by Paul Beyer from R-A to B-2. Beyer, who owns Beyer Body Shop and Towing on Pebble Lake Road, said he wanted the property rezoned to allow for future development opportunities.

In other news, the Fergus Falls Planning Commission voted in favor of a Jan. 28 hearing for Courtney Larson, who requested a conditional use permit to operate a one-chair hair salon out of her home at 1216 N. Burlington.
