BRAINERD — The Brainerd Warriors showed why they are on top of the Central Lakes Conference Tuesday night as they handed the Fergus Falls boys a 71-53 road loss.

Brainerd came storming out of the gates as they jumped out to an early 9-0 lead over the Otters. The Warriors would be able to hold on to the lead for the remainder of the game as the Otters could not get over the hump.

Mike Millard led Fergus players with 20 points, while teammate Austin Rund chipped in 10 tallies.

The Warriors were led by Jack Saurer with 24 marks on the evening.

The Otters will look to get back in the win column Thursday as they host CLC rival Alexandria in a 7:30 p.m. tilt. In their last meeting, Fergus Falls was able to edge the Cardinals 52-51 on Alexandria’s home court.
