Lakers trounce FF matmen 52-19

The Fergus Falls Otters could not overcome four forfeits as the Detroit Lakes Lakers picked up a 52-19 win on the mat Tuesday.

The Fergus Falls ninth grade wrestlers were in Mahnomen for a state qualifier, putting the Otter wrestlers shorthanded.

The Otters will wrestle St. Cloud Tech on Thursday in the Maroon Gym. Saturday they host a team tournament in the Gold Gym.

The Otters’ Abbot Aho (113 lbs.), Tyler Giza (120 lbs.), Gus Makovsky (195 lbs.) and Abram Aho (220 lbs.) each recorded wins at their respective weight classes.

The Otters will be back at it Thursday as they host St. Cloud Tech at 6:15 p.m.
