Bloodmobile collects 210 units of blood [UPDATED]
Published 10:07am Thursday, January 24, 2013 Updated 12:11pm Thursday, January 24, 2013The Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Fergus Falls on Jan. 16, 17 and 18. The Bloodmobile coordinators truly appreciate the donors who came in those days, especially the first-time donors. In spite of circumstances of having to change location for the second day and illnesses, we collected 124 units of whole blood.
Also, 86 double red cell units were donated for a total of 210 units of blood — an outstanding contribution. Many are blessed with the gift of life because you have taken the time to give and care.
Thank you to the National Guard Amory and Bethlehem Lutheran Church for the use of their facilities, Lake Region Healthcare maintenance crew for help unloading and loading equipment, Pat Griffin and Sentence-to-Serve for taking down tables and chairs, Otter Tail Telcom for use of a cell phone, Lakes Radio, The Daily Journal, the Battle Lake Review and the Shopping News for the publicity.
We also thank our dependable volunteers who delivered posters, called donors and worked at the Bloodmobile, and Linda Rude who baked goodies and Service Food for cookies donated.
Viking Café and Debbie’s Kitchen deserve a big “thank you” for donating towards our meals to the workers. We three coordinators could not do this Bloodmobile without you.
Put on your calendar now that our next drive will be in May. Please call us in May to offer to donate blood.

If the Bloodmobile would stay open during the midnight hours we could draw such celebrities as Rush Limbaugh.

Curly Acker Richard Chipmunk, this is the sort of story which should be immune from your cheap leftist attacks, but if you persist in demeaning anybody and everybody who performs an altruistic act by going political, you should expect someone to respond to your assaults.
This is one instance when I would have no objection if the web tender removed both your and my comments so to preserve the dignity of the co authors of this letter and their charitable actions.
Lighten up alias Jerome, if I had said Barrack Obama instead of your sainted hero Rush Limbaugh you would be jumping for joy. Besides we all know Limbaugh has no blood.
