Perham EDA Director Chuck Johnson has scheduled Perham’s annual Economic Development Retreat for Tuesday, January 29 from 8 a.m. to noon. This event will be held at Stevelly’s, Perham Lakeside Country Club.

Johnson states that those attending “will have a very interesting, unique opportunity to hear nationally renowned speaker Tom Rolfstad, the Director of Economic Development for Williston, N.D.” said Johnson.

Williston is now the fastest growing “Micropolitan community in the country and has gone from being the ninth largest oil producer in the U.S. to the second.

Tom knows first hand the planning that must go into a community’s growth. He also regularly speaks to communities on the investment and job opportunities in the Williston Basin. Rolfstad was recently named the “North Dakota Economic Developer of the Year” by Governor Jack Dalrymple.

The EDA Retreat will be of great interest to those interested in the business opportunities in this area. Perhaps you are looking to gain additional business – this may be the perfect area as the needs are great.

Rolfstad will also be able to speak to the challenges that Perham faces as it continues to grow.

This event is open to the public. If you have questions or need directions please contact EDA Director Chuck Johnson at 346-9798 or Mary Holzer at 346-4582.
