Beck may have put FF on map [UPDATED]
Published 10:14am Monday, January 28, 2013 Updated 12:17pm Monday, January 28, 2013As Charles Beck celebrated his 90th birthday Saturday, the former Fergus Falls art teacher and long-time artist certainly deserves recognition.
It is our belief that, in the future, the world will grow to appreciate Beck’s work even more.
While many decide to spend their well-deserved retirement on the golf course or at the beach, Beck has been hard at work.
Since retiring as an art teacher from M State, Beck has been producing wood-cut paintings at a prolific level.
While his art is not known outside of the Midwest, fellow artists believe that, had he lived in New York, his work almost certainly would be nationally recognized.
As the support for the Fergus Falls Marching Band’s performance at the Presidential Inauguration showed, local residents long for recognition, to be put on the map.
One day, we may realize that Charles Beck put us on the art map.
