Free events for adults [UPDATED]

We have a lot of fun events coming up in February at the Fergus Falls Public Library. Last week we featured events for children and teens. This week check out what we have for adults.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Movie Night. Watch “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”, a comedy/drama rated PG-13 starring Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, and Bill Nighy. British retirees travel to India to live in what they believe is a newly restored hotel.

Feb. 1-Feb. 28 we have an exciting new winter reading program for children, teens, and adults. Celebrate “I Love to Read” month by playing Sweet Reads Library Bingo for a chance to win prizes. To sign up, pick up a bingo board at the library.

Tuesday, Feb. 5, 6 to 7 p.m.: Tech Tuesday. The topic for this informal technology discussion group is “New Year’s Tech”. Bring your latest gadgets and let’s talk tech.

Wednesday, Feb. 6, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Adults, leave the kids at home and enjoy a relaxing night out. We will be creating Valentine’s Day cards out of upcycled materials. Ideas and materials provided!

Monday, Feb. 11, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Library Book Club discusses “Home Front” by Kristin Hannah. New members always welcome.

Tuesday, Feb. 19, 7 to 8 p.m.: Book Trivia Night. Have a good time and show your book knowledge at our friendly competition. Come with a team or join one.

Wednesday, Feb. 27, 6 to 7:30 p.m: I Love Pinterest Night. From 6 to 6:30 attend a Pinterest 101 class on the basics of Pinterest. Then from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. listen to a panel discussion of Pinterest users. Learn tips for getting the most out of Pinterest and see projects inspired by Pinterest.

Thursday, Feb. 25, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Movie Night. Watch “Argo”, rated R and starring Ben Affleck. A dramatization of the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian secret operation to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel out of Revolutionary Iran.

February can be cold and dreary. Spice up your February by coming to the library.
