Teams from three states will participate during Saturday’s dart tournament at the Eagles Club in Fergus Falls.Wealth

Jim Stras, manager of the club, said teams from all over Minnesota, as well as North and South Dakota, will participate in the event.

“It’s an open tournament,” Stras said. “You don’t have to be an (Eagles) member to participate.”

Stras said about 30 four-player teams have registered.

“There may be more, but as of now I know of 30 teams for sure,” Stras said.

While registration has ended, Stras said that doesn’t stop people from stopping by to watch the event. It will begin at 10 a.m..

Teams are broken into three divisions based on ability. The more experienced teams will be in the A division, then the rest in descending order in the B and C divisions.

“It can get to be a long day,” Stras said. “Last year I believe the tournament went until about 10 p.m. The A division finished earlier, but the C division went a little longer.”

Stras said a lot of people tend to show up. For the tournament, there will be 16 to 20 dart boards and the event will take place on both floors of the club.

The tournament will offer beer specials and food for the participants.

The event, which the Eagles has been hosting for 15 years, coincides with the Frostbite Festival. Stras said the Eagles Club always keeps the tournament with the Frostbite Festival weekend.
