Erma Evenson, 94, formerly of Fergus Falls

Erma Evenson, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Perham Living.

Erma Gertrude Evenson was born Dec. 26, 1918 to George and Amelia (Becker) Eckhart in Breckenridge. She attended school in Doran. Erma married Arthur Evenson on April 12, 1939.

They farmed in Western and Maine Townships until moving to rural Fergus Falls. Arthur died in 1986 and Erma moved into Fergus Falls.

She worked in various places in Fergus Falls including Rosenblat’s for seven years.

Erma enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and baking for family and friends. She was a long time member of Tingvold Lutheran Church and was active in Ladies Aide, making many quilts for missions and charity.

Erma is survived by three children, Joan (Larry) Lange of Perham, Mary (Richard) Hubbard of Green Valley, Ariz., and Gregory (Judy) Evenson of Thief River Falls; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Bernard of Britton, S.D.; brother, Arthur (Margaret) Eckhart of Fergus Falls; a sister-in-law, Doris Langseth of Fergus Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, George and Amelia Eckhart; four sisters, Martha, Rachel, Alma and Ann; and five brothers, Sam, Carl, Albert, George and Richard.

Visitation: One hour prior to the service at church

Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, at Tingvold Lutheran Church, rural Underwood

Clergy: Rev. Nancy Monke

Burial: Tingvold Lutheran Cemetery
