The new Fergus Falls Police Station is slated to be fully operational by late February.Theresa

“The turning of the keys should be after the first week in February,” said Police Administrative Lt. Terry Eldien. “After that, it’s the process of getting everything in.”

The original planned move-in date was set for early summer 2013. But with construction ahead of schedule, the move-in date will probably come sooner than that.

In the following weeks in February, the move-in process will occur. That would include moving in furniture, desks and installing computers among other things.

“So far, I believe we are still under budget,” Lt. Eldien said. “After the third week we should be operational.”

The project, which will be financed through city property taxes, originally had a construction budget of about $3.75 million.
