FF 12U takes 2 out of 3

Friday night the 12U A girls team traveled to Alexandria for a rematch with the Cardinals who won the first match up earlier in the season.

Alexandria took a three goal lead in the first period, but the gritty 12U girls from Fergus Falls battled back and scored the only goal of the second period. Lauren Werner scored off an assist from Hallie Sheridan to bring them within two goals at 1-3.

But Alexandria would score four unanswered goals in the third period to take the win.

Goalies Elaina Toppari and Jadyn McKeever delivered 26 saves in the contest. Final Score Fergus Falls 1, Alexandria 7.

Saturday the 12U A girls hosted West Fargo at the Fergus Falls Community Ice Arena.

This was a close competitive game with lots of scoring. Sheridan lead the scoring for Fergus Falls notching a three goal hat trick in the contest.

Georgia Wildung had a three point game with two goals and one assist. Sophie Rausch also had a three point game with one goal and two assists. Werner helped the team with one assist.

Netminders McKeever and Toppari combined for 17 saves in the game. Final Score Fergus Falls 6, West Fargo 5.

Sunday the 12U A girls hosted the Moorhead 12U B team.

This was a rewarding game for two players who were able to score their first goals of the season. Winger Sydney Thacker notched her first goal of the season in the second period by hammering home a goal off a nice set-up pass from Rausch. Winger Marina Holmes scored her first goal of her youth hockey career with assists coming from Rausch and Ivy Zelinsky. Angie Theede tallied her third goal of the season assisted by Alex McKinnell and Rausch.

Other goals were scored by Rausch, Werner and Wildung who bagged two goals in the game. Goaltenders Toppari and McKeever teamed up for 8 saves in the game. Final Score Fergus Falls 7, Moorhead 0.
