The Otter boys swimming and diving team took another victory at home Tuesday night, winning a duel against Perham 96-87.

Senior Michael Aasness lead a sweep for the Fergus divers with a 269.85 point first place finish. Mike Pitstulka and Reid Magnusson followed in second and third.

Joe Kitzman had another double win showing, capturing the top position in both the 100 backstroke (58.52) and 200 freestyle (1:52.00).

The Otters had three other individual winners on the night. Daniel Kowalski took first in the 50 freestyle (23.85) and second in the 100 breaststroke. In the 100 freestyle event, Clay Danielson claimed first with a time of 54.99 seconds. Mike Mortenson was the winner of the 100 butterfly (1:03.70).

Other individual swimmers who placed for the Otters were Cal Mouritson, who took second in the 500 freestyle, and Connor Hatfield, who came in third for the 200 IM.

Fergus Falls coach Tom Uvaas complemented both teams on an exciting night of swimming.

“It was a nice close contest with some great races and times. We moved swimmers around but at the same time had to stay close to our A line up because of the quality individuals from Perham.”

For the Yellow Jackets, Zach Langendorfer scored two wins, taking both the 100 breaststroke (107.73) and 200 IM (2:15.36).

In the relay events, both teams split the two races held on the night. The Fergus team of Kitzman, Kowalski, Danielson, and Mouritsen came out on top in the 200 freestyle (1:38.56).

In the 400 freestyle, the team of Jayden Cullen, Ben Sullivan, Patrick Murphy, and Lagendonrfer took first for the Yellow Jackets (3:48.92).

The Otters face off in another dual Thursday against Central Lakes Conference opponent Brainerd/Pillager at 6 p.m.

Perham heads to Bemidji Saturday to participate in the Section 5A true team meet, before heading to Detroit Lakes on Thursday, Jan. 24 to take on the Lakers in a 6 p.m. pool duel.
