Station contractor deserves recognition [UPDATED]

It isn’t often that a construction project gets completed earlier, and costs less, than expected.

But that’s precisely the case when it comes to the Fergus Falls Police Station.

The new facility along Washington Avenue that will house the staff of the Fergus Falls Police Department, along with the vehicles and equipment, has come in about $250,000 under its $3.75 million budget. In addition, the facility will be move-in ready by the end of this month, far earlier than the expected summer 2013 date.

Congratulations to Ebert Construction, the project’s general contractor, along with the architects, engineers and construction workers who built the station.

The dry summer weather certainly helped. But the fact is, completing such a large and complex project on time and under budget requires thought, planning, dedication and commitment from everyone involved.

Thanks to those who made that happen.
