The Otter Tail Nordic Ski Association will host its annual Swedish Meatball dinner fundraiser on Sunday, February 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. A free-will offering will support the youth skiers who participate in this self-supporting Nordic ski club.

OTNSA promotes Nordic skiing to people of all ages. One of its primary goals is to encourage young skiers to get involved in the winter-friendly sport of cross-country skiing. The Youth Ski League involves approximately 40 participants in grades 2 through 6 who are introduced to the fundamentals of Nordic skiing in an 8-week program each winter at Spidahl Ski Gaard in Erhard.

The competitive branch of OTNSA involves students in grades 7-12 from both Kennedy Secondary School and Hillcrest Lutheran Academy who compete with teams from all over the area. The Otter Tail Nordic ski team will participate in its last race of the season at Spidahl Ski Gaard for the Central Lakes Conference Championship meet Friday, Feb. 8.

As a financially independent, self-supporting club, the team will use proceeds from the fundraiser to help defray transportation and equipment costs for its young athletes who enthusiastically embrace winter in west central Minnesota through the healthy, fun, lifelong sport of Nordic skiing.
