Carlson wins bee at BL school [UPDATED]

Eighth-grader Elise Carlson of Battle Lake won the school’s spelling bee contest in the 18th round with the word “interrogative.”

Twenty students in grades five through eight participated in the event, held Jan. 31, according to the Battle Lake Review.

Carlson will advance to the next round in the spelling bee circuit.
