12U drop two weekend games [UPDATED]

The 12U A girls hockey team sponsored by Scots Machine shop traveled to Moorhead on Friday night to for a game against their 12U A team.conductor

In two previous meetings this season the Moorhead team was able to win both games. Fergus was able to get the only first period goal when Lauren Werner scored off a rebound from a shot by Georgia Wildung who got the assist on the goal, Sophie Rausch also got an assist on the goal.

Moorhead scored the next three before Hallie Sheridan scored a power play goal assisted by Rausch to make it 4-2 Moorhead.

Moorhead would make it 5-2 before Rausch was able to find the back of the net assisted by Sheridan and Wildung to pull within two goals at 5-3. Fergus pulled their goalie and Moorhead was able to put the game away with an open net goal. Final score Fergus Falls 3, Moorhead 6.

Fergus Goaltender Jadyn McKeever delivered 31 saves in the game.

Saturday the Fergus 12U A girls traveled to Brainerd to play their 12U A team.

In the first meeting of these two teams, Brainerd dominated the game winning 17-0. This second game was much closer indicating how much the Fergus girls have improved their game during the season.

Although Brainerd won 8-2, Fergus was able to reduce the gap to only six goals and score two goals. The first goal was an unassisted goal by Sheridan. The second goal was scored by Rausch assisted by Wildung.

McKeever faced a lot of quality shots and was able to make 22 saves in the game.
