Snow, ice force many into ditch [UPDATED]

Weather caused hazardous driving conditions around Otter Tail County Monday.

According to State Patrol Information Officer Jesse Grabow, 194 vehicles slid off the road and needed towing assistance in West Central Minnesota. There were nine crashes, and three roll-overs, none with injuries. However, two of the crashes involved a vehicle hitting a State Patrol vehicle, one on I-94 near Fergus Falls and one on I-94 near Alexandria.

A vehicle rollover this morning at 6:30 a.m. near Hawley resulted in serious injury to the driver. Michael J. Engst, 34, of Milnor, went into the center median on Hwy. 10 and overturned. Engst has been airlifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
