Kenneth Colling, 39, was convicted of one charge of domestic assault by strangulation.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a domestic assault report on November 30, 2012.

The Perham Police Department already had Colling in custody when the deputy arrived.

Colling reportedly had become violent after drinking and held a metal bat to a woman’s throat. He was also throwing things against the walls of their apartment.

After wrestling her to the ground, Colling let the woman go. She left the apartment immediately after to contact authorities.

Colling will serve 60 days in the Otter Tail County Jail and supervised probation for four years under the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
