Comets get road LEC win over Rockets

The Hillcrest Comet boys stayed on a roll Tuesday evening as they won their fifth consecutive game, defeating Little Eight Conference foe Underwood 45-31.

The Comets were able to rebound from 22 turnovers in the game to claim a victory that keeps them towards the top of the LEC.

Daniel Nersten led the scoring output for the Comets with 20 tallies, while teammate Jake Isaac chipped in 12 points in the game.

Zane Lind led the Underwood shooters with eight points and Chase Collins dropped in seven of his own.

The Rockets struggled from the field shooting only 31 percent.

The Comets will finish out their conference schedule Friday as they travel to take on the Brandon-Evansville Chargers in a 7:30 p.m. game.

The Rockets will look to find their offensive firepower Friday as they travel to take on LEC opponent Rothsay at 7:30 p.m.
