Mike Johnson, 66, of Pelican Rapids

D. Michael Johnson, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Riverfront Manor in Pelican Rapids.

D. Michael Johnson was born July 16, 1946, in Pelican Rapids, the son of Berthel and Gladys (Scott) Johnson.

He was baptized and confirmed at Central Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids.

Mike graduated in 1964 from Pelican Rapids High School. He worked for Egge Construction at Pelican Rapids for many years.

From 1977 to the present, Mike was a partner with his brothers at Johnson Turkey Farm, Pelican Rapids. He moved into Riverfront Manor in January.

Mike was a member of the Pelican Rapids Farmers Elevator Board for many years, having served as chairman of the board.

He was an active member of Central Lutheran Church where he sang with the choir and served on the church council.

He enjoyed Pelican Rapids School athletic events and coffee with friends at the local coffee shops.

Mike is survived by his mother, Gladys Johnson, Pelican Rapids; brothers, Eric Johnson and Greg (Dawn) Johnson, Pelican Rapids, and Brent (Stephanie) Johnson, Edina; nephews, Andrew, Adam (Sara), Alex and Dana; nieces, Greta and Maria; great-nieces, Olivia and Madilyn; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Berthel Johnson; and sister-in-law, Marlys Johnson.

Visitation: Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 3 p.m. Sunday, at Central Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids

Burial: Central Lutheran Cemetery
