Train derailment reported near Dent

Canadian Pacific Railroad reported a derailment Friday morning at 6:47 a.m. Between Dent and Vergas.release

All cars remain upright, but a tanker cars that derailed is marked with hazardous materials warnings.

According to CPR, the tanker cars were empty. If there was a leak, it should be minor. The hazardous material may have been petroleum, but was not confirmed by CPR.

Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Department personnel check the area around County Hwy. 35 and and County Hwy. 32, and found no further issues.

CPR crews were still working Friday morning to get the train back on the tracks.
